New insights on chronic pain and illness

Welcome to Living Proof
You are most likely here because you have chronic symptoms that have not been well explained by tests or scans - and have not responded to standard medical treatments. Or perhaps you are supporting others in this situation.

If this resonates, you're in the right place!
Modern neuroscience is offering remarkable new insights into resolving chronic pain and many other challenging persistent symptoms*.

At Living Proof, our mission is to raise awareness of this neuroscience with a view to helping people regain their health, well-being and vitality.

Living Proof is a UK-based not-for-profit organisation, powered by volunteers who have all used this neuroscience to heal - or to support others on this journey. We are so glad you found us!

Message of Hope
If you are experiencing persistent or chronic symptoms such as pain, fatigue, digestive difficulties or dizziness, and have seen little relief through conventional medical treatment, we are here to show you that there is hope.

Many thousands of people are now finding resolutions to misunderstood conditions such as chronic pain, ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, migraine and long covid using the neuroplastic (or 'mind-body') approach*.

This approach is rooted in neuroscience - and views chronic symptoms through the lens of the nervous system, which opens doors to evidence-informed treatment pathways.

* The neuroplastic approach is not intended to treat conditions that have clear diagnostic tests, such as multiple sclerosis, diabetes, heart conditions, organ damage or failure, rheumatoid arthritis, cancers, or infections. Please consult your doctor to rule out definitive structural or organic causes for your symptoms before embarking on the neuroplastic approach.

Real People. Real Recovery Stories.
Sometimes reading about a treatment approach is not enough. We need to hear from people who have actually used the approach to heal.

And so, we would love for you to watch our two short films about recovery from chronic pain and ME/CFS. Watch Charli and Fiona as they describe their healing journeys in their own words. We hope you find their stories inspiring.

Fiona's Story of Hope: Recovery from ME/CFS
Our 'why'
Our organisation is run by people with lived experience of debilitating chronic symptoms. We have all used the neuroplastic approach to reduce and resolve our symptoms - or helped a loved one on this journey. This approach centres on:
-
neuroscience education: learning all about the role of the brain and nervous system in chronic symptoms
-
retraining the brain and nervous system through neuroplasticity
-
emotional discovery and processing
-
improved stress management
-
and learning to live in a way that supports nervous system health

We are now living full and active lives - and we are passionate about 'paying forward' our recoveries through our work at Living Proof.

A global mind-body community
Whilst Living Proof is a UK-based organisation, we are part of an international mind-body community with a shared mission. One of our key aims is to support and collaborate with partners in this space so that together we can raise broader awareness of the neuroscience and hope for recovery - and, ultimately, help more people to heal.
A few of these partners are shown below - swipe through and click on the logos to visit their websites.
